Lyallpur Diabetes Foundation (LDF) – Public Awareness Session & Free Screening Camp

Faisalabad, 28 August 2026: Lyallpur Diabetes Foundation (LDF), in collaboration with Ujala Foundation, successfully organised a Public Awareness Session and Free Screening Camp at Sadaqat Corporation Pvt. Limited, Faisalabad, with the support of the Primary Care Diabetes Association (PCDA), the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM), and Getz Pharma.

The camp provided free random blood sugar (RBS), visceral fat, and BMI screening, along with nutrition counselling and Hepatitis screening. A total of 214 people were screened.

Key screening findings

RBS was analysed for 213 patients:

  • 44 patients (20.7%) had RBS in the prediabetic/diabetic range (≥140 mg/dL)
  • 10 patients were in the diabetic range (≥200 mg/dL)
  • 34 patients were in the prediabetic/impaired range (140–199 mg/dL)

87 patients (40.8%) were classified as obese:

  • Obesity Class I: 50
  • Obesity Class II: 27
  • Obesity Class III: 10
  • 7 patients (3.3%) were Hepatitis positive
  • 92 patients (43.2%) were flagged for a follow-up medical checkup based on the screening findings

Awareness session: “Live Lighter”

The awareness session focused on obesity awareness, women’s health, diabetes prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices. Dr. Ahmad Shahzad delivered an insightful lecture titled “Live Lighter”, highlighting the importance of balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, and sustainable lifestyle modification.

This initiative reflects LDF’s continued commitment to community health, disease prevention, early detection, and promoting healthier lifestyle choices.
